Port of Tianjin sets a new record
China’s Port of Tianjin has set a new record this year – the port handled more than 11.35 million containers (TEU) in the first half of 2023, up 8 percent from the previous year!
Tianjin Port (Group) Co Ltd. reported that the port recorded a throughput capacity of 241 million metric tons during this period, up 2.1 percent in comparison to last year.
The new records attest that China continues to grow rapidly and is looking for more and more efficient solutions to increase production capacity and throughput, and to modernize the systems already available. Given the overall upward trend, we can expect the statistics to continue to go up in the years to come.
➡ The Port of Tianjin is a major shipping point in northern China – the port has trade links to more than 500 ports in over 180 countries and regions. It is also noteworthy that the Port of Tianjin is one of the 10 most active ports in the world in terms of throughput.
