China leads the way toward a global clean energy shift

With the rapid development of the wind and photovoltaic energy industries, supported by strengthened innovation and resilient industrial chains, China is leading the way toward a global shift in clean energy

➡ At the end of June, China’s photovoltaic capacity reached 470 million kilowatts, the eighth highest in the world. Wind power capacity, meanwhile, reached 389 million kilowatts, the thirteenth highest in the world.
➡ A 16-megawatt wind turbine was installed at the coast of Fujian province in eastern China. This result makes it the turbine with the highest unit generating capacity of any turbine operating worldwide. The turbine became operational in July this year.
➡ A type of photovoltaic cell module manufactured by Tongwei Solar (Chengdu) Co Ltd recently achieved record performance, certified by TÜV Rheinland, a leading German provider of testing and certification services.
Compared to conventional modules, these modules are much more resistant to high temperatures and can generate power from both sides, increasing efficiency and reducing power generation costs.

The rapid development of the wind and solar power industry has contributed greatly to China’s economic growth and the Middle Kingdom’s increased presence in the global market. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics show that in the first half of this year, China’s production of photovoltaic cells and wind turbines increased by 54.5% and 48.1%, respectively. Moreover, according to NEA data, photovoltaic modules, wind turbines, gearboxes and other key components made in China accounted for 70% of the global market share last year.
China has been following global trends and researching the latest technologies for years, making it a leader in many fields, including the energy industry. That’s why, when doing business based on renewable energy sources, it’s worth to take into consideration working with a world leader in this field. China will not only provide a wide range of choices and favorable prices, but also access to the latest innovations on the market.
