Further coverage of the trip to China
Next days in China – another report. We managed to visit our consolidation warehouse in Yiwu and the famous Yiwu Futian market – the world’s largest wholesale market. We also had the opportunity to participate in inspections carried out at two factories.
Due to the large size of the entire Yiwu market complex, we had to split into groups, each of which was assigned specific sections to visit. As we walked around the various stalls, we looked for suggestions for new products for our customers.
On site, we were most surprised by the vastness of the place, and the dynamics of the interaction with the sellers – throwing products on the ground and writing prices on the floor for photos is the norm here. What is more, the sellers were cordial enough to hand us a whole jar of snacks to say goodbye.
Over the next two days we were able to get a glimpse of what the inspection process looks like. One of our quality controllers, Derek, took us to two factories, where together we checked the quality of our customers’ orders. And here we were captured by the friendliness of the employees and factory owners – we were invited to have lunch together at a local restaurant, received gifts, and at the end the factory owner himself drove us to the station in his car.
For us, an incredible amount of knowledge and new experience, but above all, a great deal of kindness and willingness to help from the Chinese side.
